MOUNT VERNON, VA – Given the local, national and worldwide efforts to mitigate the spread and impact of the coronavirus, the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association will close George Washington's Mount Vernon to visitors beginning March 14 through March 31.

This decision reflects the necessary precaution to ensure the safety of our visitors, our staff and volunteers, and their families.  This closure impacts the Mansion, grounds, museums, library, as well as all retail shopping and dining facilities.

During these next two weeks, Mount Vernon will continue its mission to educate people around the world through its robust digital presence  Mount Vernon will provide digital tours of the estate through its Facebook and YouTube accounts. The Washington Library has also prepared digital resources for students and their parents and will be working with its network of teachers nationwide to support their educational efforts. These resources can be accessed at mountvernon.org/digital-resources.

Guests holding tickets for general admission, special events, or group reservations during this closure period may reschedule their visits for a later date. Guests may also contact Mount Vernon directly at 703.780.2000 or ticketing@mountvernon.org with questions or concerns.
