MOUNT VERNON, VIRGINIA - Guests will once again be able to tour the inside of George Washington's home on the Potomac River as Mount Vernon reopens to tours on Wednesday, July 8.

The historic plantation owned privately by the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association has been gradually reopening areas of the estate to guests since it reopened to the public on June 21.

"Guest safety and the safety of our staff is of the utmost importance. We wanted to be sure we had the necessary safety protocols in place before we reopened our doors to the centerpiece of our collection, the Mansion itself." - Doug Bradburn, President and CEO.

Guests interested in touring the Mansion are encouraged to reserve their tickets in advance on Mount Vernon's website. The number of tickets is limited each day, with weekends showing the most demand. Those wishing to tour the Mansion will be required to wear face coverings during their tour in compliance with the Governor's orders.

Members of Mount Vernon can visit the grounds and museums anytime but need to reserve complimentary tickets in advance to tour the Mansion.

If you are unable to reserve a Mansion tour in advance of your visit, an allotment of tickets will be available on a first-come basis each day. Guests can also purchase a grounds pass that provides access to see the grounds, historic outbuildings, gardens, tombs, farm, trail, and museum galleries.
