MOUNT VERNON, VA – George Washington’s Mount Vernon is the proud winner of 2018 Gold and two Bronze Telly Awards for its latest production, Washington’s War: General George Washington and the Revolutionary War. The top award – a Gold Telly – was received in the General Education (non-broadcast) category and the Bronze Telly Awards were received in the 3D-Graphics/Animation (non-broadcast) and Cinematography (non-broadcast) categories.
The 17-minute film focuses on Washington’s leadership and the pivotal campaigns that secured American independence. Produced by Wide Awake Films exclusively for Mount Vernon, the movie includes gripping live action sequences and cutting-edge animation designed to appeal to today’s audiences. Since its debut in December 2017, Washington’s War: General George Washington and the Revolutionary War has been a highlight for thousands of Mount Vernon’s visitors with its enhanced powerful 4-D special effects and 9.2 channel state-of-the-art surround sound system. Washington’s War: General George Washington and the Revolutionary War joins Mount Vernon previous award-winning films, The Winter Patriots and Yorktown: Now or Never, both of which feature important Washington victories during the Revolutionary War.
More than 100 reenactors participated in the filming for Washington’s War: General George Washington and the Revolutionary War at locations throughout Virginia, including Fuqua Farms, Richmond; Gadsby’s Tavern, Alexandria; Wellbourne House, Middleburg; Goose Creek Bridge; and George Washington’s Mount Vernon.
