Spend the morning getting to know how Mount Vernon uses primary source artifacts and documents from George Washington's estate to enrich our understanding of the lives of our first president, his family, his enslaved persons, and the surrounding community at our nation's founding. We will tour the estate, visit the archeology lab, and have a dialogue with staff historians and local Virginia Council for Social Studies teacher members.
Please Note: The Virginia Council for Social Studies will waive the VCSS membership requirement for this workshop.
