Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pound small white onions or 1 bag frozen pearl onions
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 1/4 cup chicken stock
- 1/4 cup sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
Peel fresh onions. Melt butter in saucepan; add the onions and all other ingredients. Cook slowly over a medium-low flame, turning onions occasionally until tender. The liquid should be greatly reduced and beginning to thicken and turn slightly brown.
