Ingredients
- 2/3 cup vegetable shortening
- 1 pound package brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 2 3/4 cups flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup pecans
- 1 small package chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions
Melt shortening and add sugar. Stir until well mixed and cool, Add eggs 1 at a time. Beat well after each addition. Add dry ingredients nuts, chocolate bits, and vanilla. Pour into greased 10 1/2 X 15 1/2-inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Let cool a little before cutting.
Yields 48 small squares
