Mount Vernon is open late this summer—just for members!

Members and their guests may explore the grounds after hours, purchase a picnic from the Mount Vernon Inn Restaurant, and dine al fresco on the lawn.

Members also receive 20% off on all purchases from the Shops. Some exclusions apply.

Join us for an exclusive members-only evening at George Washington’s Mount Vernon.

  • Explore the gardens and grounds
  • Visit the Farm or stroll along the wharf for a view across the Potomac River (closes at 7:30 p.m.)
  • Meander through the Forest Trail until 7:30 p.m.
  • Pay your respect at the Slave Memorial & Cemetery (closes at 7:30 p.m.)
  • See the final resting place of George and Martha at the Washington's Tomb until 7:30 p.m.
  • The Mount Vernon Shops will be open until 7 p.m.

Note: The Mansion will be closed during this event.

Outside food and drink is not allowed.

  • Members may pre-order a picnic (see below).
  • The Executive Orders Food Truck will be open for a quick snack or meal.

Space is limited and complimentary tickets must be reserved in advance.

*Member-Only After Hours Picnics may be canceled due to inclement weather. If the event is canceled, any pre-purchased food and beverage will be automatically canceled and refunded.

Seating

Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or small lawn chair to sit on the East Lawn. Seating is not provided.

Tents, tables, pop-ups, grills, beach or free-standing umbrellas, coolers, and glass containers are not permitted.

No outside food or beverages are allowed, except bottled water.
