Coming Soon: Hands-On-History Center
The Sanda and Jeremiah Hands-On-History Center at Mount Vernon is a bright, engaging space where children and their grownups can explore history and Washington’s world together.
Through hands-on activities, replica artifacts, and interactive exhibits, young visitors will discover how Washington grew from a curious young person into the leader we all look to today, and explore their own character and values along the way.
Explore the gardens through murals, read in Washington’s study, try the fan chair, and discover that history isn’t just about the past but a world filled with bright colors and inspiring people.

With George Washington: A Revolutionary Life, the Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association launches a next-generation museum experience that reimagines George Washington's life, and the meaning of leadership, for 21st-century audiences.
