Scholars, authors, speakers, professors, and other top academics conduct research at the Washington Library on a daily basis. Two years ago, then-director of the Library Doug Bradburn started Conversations at the Washington Library to engage these visiting researchers and fellows, sharing their work with a wider audience.
In recent episodes, the podcast has expanded its reach to focus more on matters of public history and how Mount Vernon interacts with the public. Staff from across the estate share their unique stories and expertise, such as manager of historic trades Sam Murphy and character interpreter Brenda Parker.
The future is full of possibilities for Conversations. In the coming months, the team will interview groundbreaking scholars and Mount Vernon staff to tell unique stories about the Founding Era.
