Editorial Notes
As commander of the continental army, Washington’s general orders were a mix of information from troop movement to regulations for behavior and cleanliness. It was also in these orders that Washington would build up the morale of those fighting in the revolutionary war. Just days before America declares independence, Washington encourages his troops to support each other and to always remember the greater cause for which they are fighting.
