The Washington's World Interactive Map was produced by George Washington's Mount Vernon New Media and GIS teams, Fastspot LLC, and the GIS Department of Washington College. In particular, we would like to thank Stewart Bruce of Washington College, the Fastspot design and development team, including Curt Kotula and Ben Plum. The base data set was sourced from the The George Washington Atlas, edited by Martin Lawrence (1932) and augmented by scholars and George Washington experts. Our hope is to continue to expand, refine, and improve the geographic and historical data found in this map display. The map is built upon the ArcGIS system, a platform from ESRI.
