Come explore French Colonial Culture in Historic St. Genevieve, Missouri. Hear from one of Mount Vernon’s History scholars on the influence of Washington’s leadership during the colonial period and how political alliances reached as far as the western colonial frontier. Learn about agricultural practices, and how the expanding economy in the 1790’s impacted the Ohio country.
This FREE Professional Development will take place in Historic St. Genevieve, Missouri at the Centre for French Colonial Life, the National Trust Bolduc site and the Felix Valle House. This hands-on experience is for current elementary, middle school and high school educators from Missouri, Illinois, Arkansas, Tennessee and Mount Vernon Alumni.
Learn from Historians, Educators, Living History Interpreters, and Mount Vernon Alumni. Get new ideas for your classroom curriculum. Educational materials included. Light breakfast and catered lunch provided. Transportation to and from the site is on your own. Overnight accommodations available at B and B’s in town, or nearby hotels just south of St. Louis.
