Before requesting a research appointment, we request that you do a preliminary search of our catalogs to make sure we have relevant materials for your project. We do not accept same day appointments.

We do not offer genealogical research assistance.

Please contact the Library of Virginia or the Daughters of the American Revolution Library, or The National Society of Washington Family Descendants for further assistance. 

Tour Policy:

We are not open for public tours, or included in admission to the Mount Vernon Estate. To see original documents from our collection, visit the Donald W. Reynolds Museum and Education Center, which is included in your admission. 

Access to any non-digitized rare materials is subject to the purpose of research and preservation needs.
