George Goodwin was the Washington Library's 2018/19 Dr. William M. and Betty H. Busey Family Fellow and he has twice been an international fellow at the Robert H. Smith Center for Jefferson Studies, Monticello.

His research project at Mount Vernon, “George Washington, Benjamin Franklin and the propaganda and intelligence war in the British Isles and Europe during the American Revolution” is the basis for a forthcoming book.

Goodwin is Author in Residence at Benjamin Franklin House in London, an Eccles Centre Makin Fellow at the British Library, and a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society. He is a graduate of Cambridge University.
