Mount Vernon appreciates the cooperation of bus drivers and professional guides.
Admission for drivers and guides is always free and meals at the Mount Vernon Inn Restaurant and The General's Canteen at Mount Vernon are 25 percent off with identification (one driver and one professional guide per group).
Buses are permitted to stop to unload passengers along the Parkway Circle in front of the Main Gate. The circle is for unloading. Designated bus parking is located along Route 235 across from the Mount Vernon Post Office.
Buses are not permitted to idle in excess of 10 minutes in any location.
Bus drivers found in violation of the bus idling rule will receive a warning; any driver found to violate the rule after receiving a warning will be directed to remove his or her bus from the parking area immediately.
