In this video, we visit the National Archives and meet with the director of exhibit programs Michael Hussey, who shares a group of rare documents about slavery from the 18th century. Some of these document were recently on loan at Mount Vernon for our Lives Bound Together exhibit. We also speak with associate curator Jessie MCleod about the exhibit, and how these documents help tell the stories of the enslaved workers.
